OGILVIE Construction has announced work is underway on an £18 million project to build a 4-star boutique hotel in Edinburgh.
The 150-room hotel, based in the west end on Torphichen Street, is being constructed for Axcel Hospitality and will feature a restaurant, bar and leisure facilities. The project is due for completion in 2020.
Ogilvie explained that the structural frame has been developed as a precast concrete and structural steelwork hybrid founded on a drilled piling solution. The façade will contain mostly natural stone.
Ogilvie Construction managing director Donald MacDonald said, “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract and look forward to delivering a high quality building. Our team has an extensive and successful track record in the hotel and leisure sector and will work closely with the client throughout the project to ensure that the hotel meets every need of future guests.”
