BAM Construction has been tasked by East Renfrewshire Council with building a new £12.2 million primary and nursery school in Newton Mearns.
Maidenhill Primary and Nursery School will provide education facilities for the new Maidenhill residential area where the first phase of the 834 house development is underway. 444 primary and 120 nursery places are being created along with joint community facilities that include a multi-use games hall and 3G pitch. Work will begin in May, with the school scheduled to open in summer 2019.
Bruce Dickson, BAM’s regional director said, “Maidenhill Primary is the centrepiece of this new community and we are delighted to have again been selected by East Renfrewshire Council to deliver such a key project to unlocking the full potential of this area”.
