35 new homes are to be built in Killearn, including 12 for Rural Stirling Housing Association by Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts.

These new affordable homes – a mix of apartments, cottages, semi-detached and terraced houses – will be built on the Blairessan site and ready for occupancy later this year. The development marks the first time Mactaggart & Mickel have built properties in Killearn.

The affordable homes will be part of a wider development of private housing by the housebuilder. Buchanan Views will consist of 23 three-to-five bedroom homes from the company’s Design Collection.

Jamie McLean, general manager for Mactaggart & Mickel Contracts said, “We are pleased to have secured this contract from Rural Stirling Housing Association and look forward to delivering attractive, energy efficient, affordable housing later this year.”

Margaret Vass, chairperson of Rural Stirling Housing Association added, “We are absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to be working with Mactaggart and Mickel Contracts. There is a real shortage of affordable housing in Killearn and these much needed, good quality new homes will allow us to help redress that shortage, providing more choice for local people who want to make Killearn their home.”
