BARRATT Homes has delivered a safety talk to youngsters at a Glasgow primary school to remind them of the dangers within a live construction site.
The visit to Battlefield Primary took place ahead of the launch of the housebuilder’s new nearby site at Riverside at Cathcart.
Stewart Ponton, safety, health and environment manager for Barratt Developments PLC said, “Our site managers are acutely aware of the attraction of construction sites to children during the school holidays. And while they might look like obstacle courses, the fact of the matter is that they are incredibly dangerous.
“It is our duty of care to the people of Glasgow and the many other communities in which we operate to provide local schools like Battlefield Primary school with the right information on how to keep pupils safe.”
The Site Safety Roadshow has seen Stewart and his team of site experts deliver 40-minute interactive presentations which include a video, Q&A session, and personal protection equipment (PPE) for the children to try on as well as an information pack for school staff to distribute to pupils and parents.
