CCG gets to work on Glasgow housing upgrades

CCG is undertaking two projects for Linthouse Housing Association to upgrade existing housing stock in Glasgow’s Govan area.

Works include stock improvement, being delivered by CCG Asset Management, and internal and external repairs and improvements, which are being carried out by CCG Specialist Building Services (SBS).

CCG Asset Management was appointed directly by Linthouse HA via the Scottish Procurement Alliance. Around 256 properties will be completed over a 22-week period, consisting mainly of boiler installations and kitchens and bathrooms replacements as well as associated electrical works and decoration.

John Clark, Linthouse HA chairperson said, “These two projects being undertaken by CCG are part of the short and long-term business plan that Linthouse HA has put in place. At the heart of the business plan is our commitment to provide quality homes for our tenants. Over the next few years, there will be other major projects undertaken by the Association. These large investments are part of the Association’s drive to keep improving the standard of homes that we provide for our tenants.”

Stephen Riley, CCG Asset Management managewr added, “Our division had a very successful 2017 with a total of 2392 properties benefiting from Asset Management’s services. Ranging from bathroom, kitchen, heating, and window and door installations, our ability to deliver, and our tried and tested experience will only serve us well as we progress this contract with our trademark care and efficiency.”

CCG SBS are live at Hutton Drive where the division is undertaking tenemental repairs to four closes, including stone repairs and new roof tiling, installation of new boilers, external wall insulation and attic insulation to improve thermal performance, as well as new kitchen and bathroom layouts. CCG said the £3 million contract will be delivered within a 60-week programme.

CCG SBS manager Paul Muldoon explained, “Whilst the contracts are being delivered independently, Linthouse HA will benefit from the expertise of both SBS and Asset Management. Hutton Drive is an extensive contract with many different elements being undertaken within a densely populated area. Our site management will require to be at the highest level in considering the surrounding community and we will ensure this is maintained for the duration of the programme.”
