Bid specialist earns ‘Emerging Director‘ prize following growth

ANDREW Morrison, the founder and MD of AM Bid Services has won the ‘Emerging Director’ award at the Institute of Directors, Scotland Director of the Year Awards.

The victory recognises the growth at AM Bid Services, following a 195% increase in turnover in year two, with a further 73% increase in year three.

The ‘Emerging Director’ prize is open to leaders of businesses who have operated at director level for less than five years. The Awards, held in Glasgow, featured nine key director categories and five regional categories.

Five new positions have been created at AM Bid Services in the last year alone, including David Sole OBE joining as non-executive chairman, procurement and bidding specialist Peter Sharpe being appointed bid manager/writer for London and the South East and Gavin Cowan taking on the role of client account executive.

Andrew and his team have provided “award winning” results for clients ranging from FTSE 100 companies to SMEs. Andrew has also delivered pro-bono work to charities and third sector organisations, assisting them with bid strategy and funding applications. He has recently supported homelessness and mental health charities such as Social Bite, and Josh Quigley, the suicide survivor who raises awareness of suicide prevention.

Andrew Morrison said, “Given the very high calibre of finalists at the IoD Scotland’s national awards, I am thrilled to have been awarded the Emerging Director of the Year Award. AM Bid Services is just three-and-a-half years old, so to get this recognition so early in our company history is testimony to our dramatic growth journey. We have exciting plans for the future involving continuing to increase our staff numbers across the UK whilst focussing on helping our clients achieve outstanding bid win rates.”
