DUMFRIES and Galloway-based pitched roofing manufacturer Russell Roof Tiles has announced it is to make a half a million pound investment in its factory.

The move is set to provide ten new jobs in 2018 at the firm’s 11-acre Halleaths site and is part an on-going capital investment programme. The £500,000 investment will include new machinery and equipment at the site’s utility and main tile plants.

This latest investment follows a continued period of growth in the construction sector due to a growing demand for roofing products for both housing and commercial projects, the company claims.

Andrew Hayward, managing director at Russell Roof Tiles commented, “It’s vital that Russells continues to invest in our manufacturing facilities, using the latest technology to continue to drive the business forward and keep up with current and predicted growth.

“The new enhanced equipment means that we will require new staff to join the team.”
