JAMIE Hepburn MSP, the Scottish Government Minister for Employability and Training, recently visited Livingston-based Almond Engineering to hear about career opportunities for young people.

The minister was a guest of Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) West Lothian Regional Group.

He met former apprentices who now have now qualified as engineers with the firm and heard about plans to look at other design engineering apprenticeship opportunities next year as well as the company’s collaborative partnership with DYW West Lothian, which offers pathways from education into the world of work.
