STEWART Ferguson has been named operations director at Deeside Timberframe, part of the Bancon Group.
Currently director of the Bancon Group’s specialist works division, he will transfer to the Stonehaven-based timber systems manufacturer for a new role, which includes overseeing on-site activity, quality systems and site health and safety as well as managing the commercial team.
Bancon said the move was geared towards driving expansion and growth, adding that Deeside Timberframe is “reaping the rewards” following investment in extra resources in central Scotland and north west England, which has resulted in more than 60% of its business now coming from outwith the north east of Scotland.
John Wright, managing director of Deeside Timberframe said, “I am delighted to welcome Stewart to the team at Deeside, where his broad experience will assist in our current growth strategy.
“This move also allows us to take advantage of our diverse skill set by providing opportunities for personnel development across the Bancon Group.”
Stewart has worked in the construction industry for more than 30 years.
He has been involved in housing, health, education, industrial, commercial and retail construction projects. Stewart said, “Timber frame systems are increasingly being used in the construction of homes, supermarkets and hotels and are considered one of the most economic, efficient and environmentally friendly methods of construction, so there is huge potential to continue expanding the company and its reach in the UK market.”
