Threesixty to design Stromness campus

Threesixty Architecture will be responsible for the design of the redevelopment of the old Academy and former Primary School of Stromness.

Highlands + Islands Enterprise and Orkney Islands Council are creating a research, academia and business campus on the site, which will reportedly house both existing and future occupants such as institutes, consultancies and new start companies.

Threesixty Architecture said the design will “renovate and unify the two existing buildings as one campus”. Each building will feature new entrances, improved circulation, open plan offices, and shared meeting spaces. The Old Academy building façades will be “largely preserved” while the school envelope will be entirely upgraded.

The project has a planned completion date of 2019.
