Celtic hoping to score with new museum and hotel plans

CELTIC Football Club has unveiled plans to develop the area around its Parkhead stadium, including the potential addition of a new hotel and museum.

The Glasgow club’s proposals also include a new retail store and ticket office.

Celtic released images showing what the possible design will look like and confirmed a Proposal of Application Notice will be made to Glasgow City Council.

In a statement published on the club website, Celtic said, “The application is part of Celtic’s long-standing masterplan for the area, a vision which aims to deliver benefit to the Club and our supporters and allow further re-generation of the east end of the city, something to which we are totally committed.

“This application represents only the first stage in this process. It is important to emphasise that considerable work and investment over a number of years would be required to bring this project to fruition. There would be a number of challenges to overcome to complete a development of this scale.”
