THE Construction Scotland Innovation Centre (CSIC) has launched a recruitment drive ahead of its move to a new facility in Hamilton.
CSIC’s new industry-led centre will open its doors to the sector this summer. Scotland’s construction businesses will have access to 30,000 sq. ft. of workshop space housing state-of-the-art equipment, which will allow firms of all sizes to prototype and develop new products, processes, systems and solutions, from “early stage ideas through to full commercialisation”.
To help run the new facility and deliver its plans, CSIC is looking to add two business relationship managers, a technical manager, a centre manager, a marketing and communications manager and a digital marketing & events co-ordinator to its existing team.
Stephen Good, CSIC chief executive said, “Since we launched two years ago, we have made fantastic progress, helping 42 innovative projects get off the ground. We’ve had great interest from the industry in our new innovation facility before it has even opened, so we’re expecting a very busy year as more and more people within the construction industry get innovating.
“Our new facility and our plans to expand our range of services, activities and events mean we need to significantly grow our team. We’re looking for dynamic, creative and passionate people with a variety of different skills who can help us achieve our ambition of inspiring and supporting construction businesses to innovate.
“These roles offer exciting career opportunities for the right candidates, who don’t all necessarily have to have construction sector experience, as long as they are committed to helping us support the industry as it faces an array challenges and opportunities over the coming years.”
CSIC works in partnership with a range of public sector, academic and further education organisations, to support construction businesses to collaborate, innovate and grow by matching innovation requirements with business support and expertise.
