MAXI Construction has secured a £2.2 million contract for the refurbishment of Panmure House for Edinburgh Business School.
The Livingston-based contractor will carry out alteration and extension works to the Grade A listed facility, which was once a residence of renowned economist Adam Smith.
Maxi said Panmure House will be refurbished to provide “flexible accommodation for lectures, readings, performances and seminars”. An extension will provide an entrance foyer and internal space will be “sympathetically refurbished and reconfigured” to provide a reading room, lecture room, offices, kitchen and toilets. In addition, a new stone pencheck stair will be installed along with lifts to facilitate access to all levels of the building.
