McLaughlin & Harvey has landed a third University of Edinburgh development after being appointed main contractor of the multi-million pound Equine Diagnostics, Surgical & Critical Care Unit project.
Based at the university’s Easter Bush Campus, the project involves the construction of the new unit along with upgrades to the existing Equine Hospital.
The new facility will consist of four integral parts – a specialised diagnostics and triage area for evaluating emergency cases, two operating theatres plus a new standing surgery suite, a dedicated critical care unit comprising of six suites, and support space to deliver on-site teaching and education for students as well as supporting clients.

“Following on from the Easter Bush Innovation Centre project and the award for the construction and fit-out of the Data Technology Institute Building, this project is our third new build development we have on-going for the University at present.”
