THE 60-bedroom Premier Inn hotel at Lomondgate Services has been granted planning permission to almost double in size following “overwhelming demand” since opening five years ago.
An additional 54 bedrooms, 79 parking spaces and landscaping works will be added to the hotel, which also includes the Malt & Myre pub/restaurant.
The expanded hotel should be fully open during 2017.
Mike Edward, director of Walker Group (Scotland) Ltd, which spearheaded the Lomondgate development in partnership with Strathleven Regeneration CIC said, “This is great news for Lomondgate Services which continues to go from strength to strength.
“There is a great line-up of roadside services including the Premier Inn, Brewer’s Fayre, Scotland’s first drive-thru Costa, Euro Garages’ petrol filling station and Jaconelli’s Fish diner.”
