Pennywell project earns regeneration recognition

Urban Union wins 2016 RICS Scotland Regeneration category for Pennywell development

THE Pennywell Living team has celebrated winning the Regeneration prize at the 2016 RICS Scotland Awards.

The Edinburgh project, which is being delivered by Urban Union in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council, is delivering 356 new social and mid-market homes for rent alongside 363 new properties for private sale.

Susan Hallsworth, managing director of Urban Union, said the project’s vision is “not just building homes, but building strong communities”.

Stuart Bishop, architecture director at Barton Fillmore, added, “We’re absolutely delighted that Pennywell has received this recognition. As architects, masterplanners and townplanners we are very passionate about regeneration, and it’s clear to see the positive impact the development is having.

“As a long term north Edinburgh resident myself, I’m particularly proud of the project and the team are looking forward to working on the future phases that will further cement this successful regeneration.”
