Kingspan Insulation has announced the latest development in ultra-low lambda products to help meet new buildings targets, without having to increase cavity wall sizes. Offering a thermal conductivity of just 0.018 W/m.K, new Kingspan Kooltherm K106 and K108 Cavity Board provide a level of performance that is unrivalled in the world of rigid thermoset insulation materials
Apart from the fact low U-values can be achieved with a thinner product, a specially developed facing also allows Kooltherm K106 Cavity Board to be installed with a 10 mm air gap, instead of the 50 mm required in a standard partial fill cavity wall construction. The watertight, vapour-open polypropylene fleece outer facing protects against moisture penetration.
