LIVINGSTON-based Esh Border Construction has laid the foundations for building new business relationships after a successful ‘Meet The Buyer’ event.
Almost 100 suppliers and subcontractors attended the Macdonald Houstoun House event for the opportunity to build new and existing connections with the firm across its Scottish operation.
Esh Border Construction, part of Esh Group, was keen to tap into diverse local expertise in construction work. The company hoped to strengthen existing business relationships in Scotland as well as expanding its base of suppliers, with a view to developing long-term partnerships with its supply chain.
Those attending found out about products and services which are set to be required by the business in support of the delivery of new and future projects.
Following a presentation from managing director Simon Phillips and construction director John Moore, the event gave those attending the opportunity to speak on a one-to-one basis with representatives from the company’s delivery arms, including members of the procurement and operations teams. Esh Border Construction has established its place north of the border with a clutch of new business wins and the opening of a new regional office in Livingston earlier this year.
Among Scottish successes, Esh Border Construction was recently named the appointed contractor on Historic Scotland’s £8.9milion Engine Shed project in Forthside, Stirling.
John Moore said, “We are grateful to every supplier and sub-contractor who made the effort to come and see us, and are certain it will lead to many new business relationships, while strengthening existing ones, in 2016. Esh Border Construction has built a strong culture of collaborative working that has allowed us to return to the same great people time and again, and it’s thanks to these sorts of events that our trusted supplier base continues to expand.
“We firmly believe that a major part of any company’s success is its partners, so it’s great to see so that so many are keen to take up our offer of working together in the future.”
