Mactaggart & Mickel Commercial Property has secured planning permission for its latest retail site, located in Linlithgow.
The development will include a 12,000 sq ft retail unit with car parking facilities and associated services and landscaping. Located on Edinburgh Road, to the east of the commuter town’s bustling High Street, the site of the former petrol filling station had been vacant for a number of years.
Land manager Craig Ormond said, “Given the current restrictions on building new homes in the area until 2019, we were keen to consider alternative uses for the land which has been lying derelict for a number of years. Our plans will turn what was a vacant brownfield plot into a useful facility for local residents. We are currently speaking to potential tenants and are confident we will secure a quality retailer for the space. Linlithgow is an attractive market town with excellent transport links and we have seen keen interest so far.”
