BRE Expands Scottish Director Role

BRE (Building Research Establishment), the independent research, knowledge and advice organisation for the built environment sector, has extended the role of Rufus Logan, Director for Scotland.

With immediate effect, Logan takes up the strategic role of overseeing the activities of BRE in UK regions and countries includingScotland, Wales, SW England and Merseyside.

In Scotland, BRE has a long established record as lead provider of technical and consultancy support for both the construction industry and Government. Now, Logan’s role has been expanded to develop and implement growth strategies for a variety of BRE projects across the UK. Particular areas upon which Logan will focus include sustainable building design, energy performance of buildings, innovation support and professional training services.

Prior to joining BRE Scotland in 2002, Logan worked for Scottish Enterprise, based in Dumfries and Galloway, responsible for supporting the growth of a number of the region’s businesses and key industry sectors including tourism and the forest industries. He was also part of the Scottish Enterprise Network national team that led the development and subsequent delivery of Scotland’s Forest Industry Cluster Strategy 1997 – 2001.
