BUSINESSES in Dundee and the surrounding area will have the chance to hear about contracts available for bidding from Robertson at a special Meet the Buyer event being held as part of Dundee Business Week.
The free event will be hosted by Dundee City Council and will take place on Tuesday 24th February at the Best Western Invercarse Hotel. It will take the format of a drop-in day, running between 10am-2pm, with no booking required.
Robertson has a number of exciting projects in the pipeline for Dundee that work will soon begin on. These include the £27m Baldragon Academy, which will accommodate up to 1,100 pupils and ULM, a £24m drug manufacturing and testing facility that will be built in the grounds of Ninewells Hospital.
The projects will be delivered via the hub East Central Scotland framework – the joint partnership between the public and private sector to develop and deliver top local services across East Central Scotland. Robertson is looking for local suppliers to work with it on current and future projects.
Other than helping local businesses win new contracts, the event aims to make the procurement process for Public Sector projects less confusing for those who are looking to bid for work. There will be a number of exhibitors in addition to Robertson including the NHS, the Scottish Government, universities and local authorities.
Kevin Dickson, regional managing director for Robertson Tayside, said, “When delivering construction projects we work with local companies to ensure they are aware of all available contracts. We’ll be speaking directly to local businesses, many of which will never have been involved in this kind of work before.
“Meet the buyer events are a vital part of delivering these objectives to prioritise local financial and community investment and ensure projects have a far-reaching and enduring impact on the local economy.”
