ALLOA-based Marshall Construction Ltd has recognised eight employees, all of whom have recently celebrated at least 25 years continuous service with the company.

The long serving staff cover a host of positions, from receptionist Lesley Harper and surveyor Stephen Patrick to project manager Colin Paterson.

Danny Conroy is an estimator/surveyor who has been with the firm for 27 years. He said, “Marshall Construction has been a great firm to work for. I have worked with other family firms in my career and feel that there is a real difference – you are not just a number and there is a close knit feeling. The construction industry has its ups and downs for sure but I am delighted Marshall Construction has grown and progressed in the industry to its present healthy state and I wish it continued prosperity.”

Derek Clarke, Commercial Executive with the firm, has been with the company for 26 years. He started his career with Fife Regional Council where he trained as an apprentice Building Technician at Hayfield in Kirkcaldy before joining Marshalls in 1988. He said, “Marshall Construction has really enabled me to grow in my career as they put me through University to obtain a degree in Surveying, then a Masters in Business Administration too. I am very grateful to them for their support and have thoroughly enjoyed the variety of the projects I have been involved with over the years, including my current project, the new Marine Harvest factory at Rosyth in Fife. “

Making up the eight long serving staff are Willie Heads, Assistant Plant Manager, contracts surveyor Kenny Thomson and Inglis Douglas, General Building Manager.

Robert Marshall, Managing Director of Marshall Construction, presented all eight with a token of his appreciation and commented on their Silver Anniversary, “I am delighted to have retained such hard working and dedicated staff and applaud them on their unwavering loyalty and substantial contribution to the growth of our company.”
