MOUNTGRANGE Real Estate Opportunity Fund and M&G Real Estate have confirmed the main structure, including the roof, of its landmark Grade A development in Glasgow, 1 West Regent Street, is complete.
The project remains on track for completion in March 2015.
1 West Regent Street will deliver approximately 143,000 sq ft of Grade A office and retail space over eleven levels.
Construction is moving at a rapid pace with the installation of the external cladding and glazing progressing well on all elevations.
The main power supply for the building is currently being connected and the mechanical and electrical installation is currently up to level 7. The internal partitioning fit out has also commenced.
Nick Berry, Partner at Clearbell Capital, said, “Anyone passing the site will be able to see a real noticeable difference in the development of the building.
“Now that most of the cladding and glazing has been installed it is really taking shape and creating a buzz.
“The high quality proposed for the finished building is clear for all to see, especially the potential occupiers we are in active discussions with who have all been very positive about the development. Reaching such a significant milestone in the construction programme less than a year after breaking ground was a huge achievement for the project team.”
1 West Regent Street will have a double height reception, high quality finishes throughout and open plan, flexible and efficient floor plates which range from 12,798 sq ft to 13,627 sq ft and are virtually column free.
It also includes 40 car park spaces and 54 cycle spaces, and has dedicated sports style changing rooms with lockers and high powered showers. The scheme has been designed by Ryder Architecture with Sir Robert McAlpine as the main contractor and Woolgar Hunter as engineering consultant.
