JAMES Latham Scotland has bolstered its sales team with the arrival of timber specialist Derek Ayton.
Having originally trained and worked as a joiner before moving into sales, Derek has spent almost 20 years in the timber industry. In his new role, he will have responsibility for Latham’s extensive range of hardwood, softwood and laminated products as well as their portfolio of modified timber.
Derek, who hails from Bishopbriggs, said, “I’m really enjoying the challenge and I am managing to get around and see plenty of customers. With responsibility for the whole of Scotland, as well as looking after existing accounts, I am also developing new ones and so I expect to be clocking up plenty of miles!”
Based at James Latham’s distribution centre at Eurocentral in Lanarkshire, Derek reports to Site Manager, David Landsburgh who added, “We are delighted Derek has joined the team and he has fitted in really quickly. We pride ourselves on having a knowledgeable team with an in-depth understanding of all the products we supply and Derek’s experience is already adding real value when dealing with customers.”
