STORY Homes is opening its first permanent Newcastle base at the end of September following a £100k re-fit of Panther House at the Newcastle Business Park.

The company’s move reflects its growing business in the North East and will allow for the creation of new jobs in the region.

Story Homes Chief Executive Steve Errington said, “We wanted quality offices which were in a great location, in line with Story’s brand aspirations. Securing Panther House, on the banks of the Tyne gives us a great base and provides plenty of capacity to grow our regional office as we secure sites and expand our footprint in the North East.

“We’ve taken a long term lease on Panther House shows our commitment and is a statement of our intent. We will be recruiting further as we gear up our operations over the next three years.”

The bulk of the company’s North East operations will be carried out from the office including: land acquisition, planning and technical, design, commercial, sales as well as administration support. Corporate services support will be provided by Story Homes Head office in Carlisle.

The office replaces the company’s short term offices at Newburn Riverside with 5,000 square feet set on two floors giving the company great potential to expand.

Currently Story Homes has two sites in the North East available for sale – Kingsbrook Wood in Middlesbrough and The Woodlands in Shotley Bridge, County Durham – and has submitted planning applications for five more in the region.

Steve added, “As a North Easterner myself I am delighted that we have a new base in the region. This new office is a symbol of our expectations in creating quality new homes for people across the North East.

“Story Homes is rapidly expanding and we’re thrilled that the North East is a big part of our expansion plans.”
