SCOTTISH apprentices in traditional construction trades showcased their skills to an audience including politicians and construction leaders at the Scottish Parliament.

Guests at the event hosted by Construction Scotland included Fiona Hyslop, Minister for Culture & External Affairs and Nigel Don (Convener of the Parliament’s Cross Party Group on Construction).
Apprentices encouraged guests to try their hand at creating special paint effects, tiling a roof and stonemasonry.
Ed Monaghan, Chair of Construction Scotland, said, “It is essential we plan for the future and ensure our workforce is equipped with the skills necessary to deliver down the line. Apprenticeships are vital to succession planning and we hosted this event to highlight we need more apprentices like those whose work we showcased.”
