DUNNE has started works on-site at Glasgow Academy’s new £8.5million Science & Technology wing at its Kelvinbridge campus.

The new facility is to be built upon the site of recently demolished tenements which were suffering from serious subsidence.
The building will replace existing science facilities across the site and will employ a number of environmental initiatives.
When complete it will provide 37,000 sq/ft of accommodation spread across four floors and incorporate a 178-seat auditorium, food technology department and 15 large science labs.
Dunne Construction Director Patrick Reel said, “We were delighted to be selected as the preferred contractor to deliver this prestigious new building for Glasgow Academy which will play a major role in achieving their growing reputation for educational excellence.
“It will also enhance our own reputation within the educational sector following on from the successful delivery of a nursery and pre-school signature building for Edinburgh Academy.”
