GLASGOW housing contractor Wates Living Space is celebrating after showing consideration on a trio of projects.
The firm secured three national Considerate Constructors Scheme awards for its “sensitive and neighbourhood friendly” approach to construction on housing projects for West Dunbartonshire Council and Glasgow Housing Association.
Projects for GHA were awarded silver and bronze while a further project for West Dunbartonshire took silver at the awards event in Edinburgh.
The awards are presented only to the top performing sites inspected by scheme assessors over the course of a year and are designed to improve the image of construction through better management and presentation of sites.
The scheme’s chief executive, Edward Hardy, said: “These award ceremonies give us the opportunity to recognise the outstanding efforts made by contractors in reaching the very highest standards of consideration.”
The company has been a framework partner with Glasgow Housing Association since 2006 for which it has improved 5,000 homes. It has overclad seven high-rise blocks for West Dunbartonshire.
