Kilsaran International, the paving and concrete products manufacturer, recently supplied its premium external hard landscaping product to the new headquarters of the Welsh Football Trust.
The project was something of a landmark for Kilsaran as its Shelbourne paving replaced the original hard landscaping specification. Business development manager Steve Spikes said: “Following a recommendation by the groundwork contractor, Dragon Plant, the Shelbourne product was deemed superior in terms of both value and quality. This project exemplifies Kilsaran’s growing reputation across influential supply chain members, establishing our products as a worthy alternative.”
The premium granite aggregate ground finish is said to provide an excellent aesthetic effect, showcasing the new light granite colour option. A stack bond lay minimised running joints across the 400mm x 400mm x 50mm paving slabs, creating a smooth, even surface.
As part of Kilsaran’s eco range of hard landscaping, the product boasts 100% recycled water and a minimum of 25% non-primary aggregates. The flags also consist of up to 10% pre-consumer aggregate replacement, with at least 50% of the cement substituted with a carbon-neutral cement replacement.
Ian Davis, head of commercial and marketing at the Football Association of Wales, commented: “The build of the headquarters was subject to rigorous criteria to ensure it conveys the brand values of the Football Trust. It was critical that all specifications carried aesthetic and functional benefits. The Shelbourne paving is eco friendly, looks great on site and delivers excellent value.”
