GLASGOW’S Museum of Transport and Travel has won the title of European Museum of the Year. The award is presented to facilities that have been built or extensively refurbished in the previous three years.
Opened in June 2011, the £74m Riverside Museum showcases the city’s transport, shipbuilding and engineering heritage. It was designed by architect Zaha Hadid and built by BAM Construction.
The award was presented in Belgium by the European Museum Forum, coinciding with International Museum Day 2013.
