Cruden gets trussed up – New council homes

FIRST roof trusses have been erected for 26 new council homes being built in Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch.

Constructed by developer Cruden Buildings and Renewals Ltd, the homes are being developed with support from Scottish Government funding and are due to be complete in early 2014.
Twelve new properties are being built at Fern Avenue in Bishopbriggs and a further 14 homes at the Lammermoor Road site in Kirkintilloch.
The developments are two of many being constructed throughout East Dunbartonshire, with the council receiving an additional allocation of £718,000 for new housing projects by the Scottish Government in March bringing the total for new projects for 2012-2015 to £4.3m. It is hoped the extra funding will help build a further 31 council houses.
Convener of housing and community services, Ashay Ghai, said: “The development of these properties is another step forward for the Council in addressing the housing needs of people living within our communities and the future projects planned will see even more affordable housing being built in East Dunbartonshire.”
