Miller wants a chain reaction

SUPPLIERS and sub-contractors in the north are to get advice on how to become involved in a supply chain for £50m worth of contracts.

Miller Construction has invited companies in the Caithness and Sutherland area to ‘meet the buyer’ in Wick later this month where they will find out more about future opportunities. As a Tier 1 contractor with Hub North Scotland, Miller is preferred bidder on the £50m package of work to be carried out over the next three years in Wick and Tain. And it is looking for local partners.
Charlie Dunn, regional managing director, said: “We are delighted to be holding this event, our second meet the buyer event in the region in a matter of months, which will allow us to engage with local sub-contractors in the Caithness area. Businesses who are interested in working with us on Hub North Scotland projects, in Wick, Tain and on future projects in the area, are invited to come along and discuss potential opportunities.”
Angus Macfarlane, chief executive of Hub North Scotland, added: “These projects for The Highland Council and NHS Highland, currently being brought to reality in the North of Scotland, are hugely exciting and will bring much needed new facilities to complement the current services being provided in their communities.”
Businesses of all construction disciplines, in Wick, the wider north-eastern Highlands and Orkney, can register for the event on March 27. Interested? email:
