Emma Anderson, a former chemist with a background in coatings, knew conventional paint would not fit the bill when it was time for her and her neighbours to redecorate the exterior of their 300-year-old listed property in the Pentland Hills. She contacted Crown Paints which drew up a detailed Sandtex Trade system specification, the main element of which was X-treme X-posure as it has a high performance acrylic binder, a hydrophobic dirt resistant formulation and anti-carbonation properties.
