THE indoor sports complex at The Peak in Stirling is the focus for a new sports village adjacent to Forthbank football stadium and the new County Cricket Ground.
Designed by S&P Architects, the £27m project features zinc rainscreen cladding in pre-weathered Anthra-zinc from VM Zinc. The dark charcoal of the interlocking panels complements the extensive areas of glazing while contrasting with the lighter grey of the composite panels.
The building combines a ‘wet and dry’ facility and has an ice rink, swimming pool, learner pool with moveable floor, and a nine-court multi-sports hall and fitness centre.
