Doors that are fit for purpose – Solidor to set bar for Master Fitter Challenge

THE eight teams competing in the finals of The Master Fitter Challenge at The FIT Show in April will be tested on composite door sets supplied by Solidor.
The manufacturer’s products will be used in two of the four challenges facing the finalists, including the compulsory fault rectification and door fitting challenges, both of which are key disciplines for professional installers but which are often the cause of call-backs.
Gareth Mobley, Solidor’s managing director, said it was a desire to raise standards that prompted the company to supply the doors for the competition. “At Solidor we constantly strive to improve the quality of our products and especially the precision and appearance of the finished product. The components used, such as the hardware, are crucial to the operation of the doors. We can control all of this but then it is down to the quality of the installation. Backing The Master Fitter Challenge is a great way to give our support to raising installation standards.”
Mobley said the competition is an opportunity for the products to be shown at their best: “Quite literally, our products will be performing on stage so we will make sure they look their very best, in the latest colours.”
The finals of The Master Fitter Challenge will take place on the first two days of The FIT Show, which will be held at The Telford International Centre April 16-18. The winner will receive a cash prize of £5,000.
