Perth & Kinross Council’s architectural services organisation has been commended by the Dundee Institute of Architects for its design of an affordable housing scheme in Methven. The project was commended in the category of best residential development, which brings together private and public sector initiatives, as part of the institute’s 2012 awards. Key elements of the design include energy efficiency that exceeds standard building regulations by 20%, and kitchens that open out on to a communal area where children can play and be seen.
