AN application has been submitted for the first new build project in a multi-million pound canal project in Glasgow.
The bid by Speirs Wharf Developments is for a campus that will provide 235 private rooms for students. It follows a consultation process late last year.
Plans have been developed by Stallan-Brand Architecture + Design Ltd, the company formed last year by Paul Stallan and Alistair Brand who formerly led the Scottish arm of RMJM.
Earlier this week, The National Theatre of Scotland announced that it was making Speirs Locks its permanent home, developing a £5.5m headquarters on the site adjacent to the campus.
Accommodation will consist of a mix of single, shared and family accommodation to cater for the changing profile of the student population.
A spokesman for the development said the campus was sorely needed in Glasgow to meet the future demands of the student population.
