ALUMET’S retrofit system which was installed at its Warwickshire headquarters earlier this year was named ‘non-domestic retrofit project of the year’ at the recent inaugural Retro Expo awards.
The ERC 50 Schuco system provides high levels of insulation and allows the building to stay operational during installation. The facade also incorporates triple glazed windows and building-integrated photovoltaic modules to provide a source of energy and a new income stream through the Feed in Tariff.
Peter Rickaby of Rickaby Thompson Associates and chairman of the judging panel said the Alumett scheme was an exemplar project that could be widely replicated on other office buildings.
More than 70 guests recently attended an event where Alumet presented products and systems for the retrofit and regeneration market.
