A £7.7m facility built by the one of the companies set up by the Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) to deliver infrastructure projects is now open to the public.
Keys to the East Neighbourhood Centre and Craigmillar Library were handed over to Edinburgh Council in advance of an official opening ceremony.
The South East Hubco constructed the building as part of a programme to build facilities across Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Borders. The partnership is made up of 11 public sector bodies, the Scottish Government through SFT and a private sector consortium led by Galliford Try.
The building, constructed by Graham Construction, was completed on time and to budget. Local firms were involved in almost all the work and the project created one new apprenticeship and retained five, as well as creating 16 new jobs in the local supply chain. The south east programme is expected to build projects worth £300m over the next 10 years.
