RIAS president, Willie Watt, commented, “Year on year the quality of Scottish Architecture is on the rise. Despite an economic climate, which continues to squeeze fees and challenge professionals’ ability to deliver, Scotland’s architects are delivering work of truly international quality to serve our citizens and communities.

“Last year’s Festival of Architecture shone a bright light on both historic and contemporary Scottish buildings, literally highlighting a tradition of excellence. That tradition continues and as this brilliant shortlist demonstrates, Scotland’s architecture is in very good heart.”
