MEMBERS of the UK Forest Products Association (UKFPA) gathered for their Annual General Meeting at Nairn Golf Club recently.
At the AGM, Phil Higginbotham, (James Callander & Son Ltd), was elected President. In his acceptance speech, Phil, who has over 40 years experience in the domestic forestry and forest products sector, paid tribute to the sterling work of his predecessor, Rod Gordon (John Gordon & Son Ltd), who had completed a two year term of office. He also acknowledged the continued support of members and their participation in the Association’s work, noting the high standing of UKFPA, which continues to focus on the practical issues affecting the sector and provides a professional and valued service to its members, with a keen focus on members’ interests and the delivery of value for money services.
Also during the formal business, Jilly Wentworth, (Taylormade Timber Products Ltd), was elected Chairperson of the Association’s Northern England Regional Group, Robert Scott, (A & J Scott Ltd), was elected Hardwood Sector Representative and Neil Campbell, (A & J Scott Ltd), was elected as a Softwood Sawmilling Representative.
After the AGM and Lunch, members were given a tour of John Gordon & Son Ltd sawmill in Nairn.
