Emtec announced as Gold Sponsors at Deer Park Masters 2014

Glasgow based Building Services firm Emtec has announced that it is set to be the Gold Sponsor at next year’s Deer Park Masters pro-am Golf Tournament, which will be held in Livingston next August.

The contest, which sees three amateurs playing in a pro-am format over two days with a golfing professional to guide them round the challenging Par 72 Deer Park Course, will therefore be known as the Emtec Deer Park Masters.
Emtec, which specialises in everything from electrical and mechanical services to air conditioning; refrigeration; fire safety and environmental consultancy, was a Gold Sponsor in 2012 and a Silver Sponsor in 2013. The level of sponsorship at the popular event is awarded on the number of teams a company submits to the Masters. The contest is fiercely fought over the two days with both a team and an individual pro format, and has around fifty golf club professionals taking part with teams made up from the business world.
The tournament has been bucking the trend economically ever since the recession – which has particularly affected the construction sector – took hold. The Muir Group, who are behind the successful event, have always found that companies are more than willing to take part and submit teams as it is not just the competitive golf that they enjoy but the chance to network as well.
“We have a great sales team in place who help us promote the Deer Park Masters to the construction sector and other Scottish business sectors who regularly submit teams year after year,” said Alan Muir, Business Development Director for Muir Construction. “We are delighted that Emtec have already announced that they want to be our Gold Sponsors next year. We really appreciate their support as that is now three years running that they have been a major sponsor for us.”
He added: “Many of the companies who submit teams to the Masters are from the construction sector and its related industries and for them the event is as much about the networking opportunities provided as the hugely enjoyable golf.”
Said Scott Stevenson from Emtec: “Emtec are once again delighted to be associated with the hugely successful Deer Park Masters. Every year the event delivers on all counts, and as gold sponsor for 2014 we can look forward, along with Muir Construction to another excellent two days of golf and hospitality.
The Deer Park Masters is good news for the fifty golf professionals from clubs all over Scotland who take part and who are beneficiaries of the event. Originally conceived to give them vital support, it has never been more needed than during the current recession.
Said Alan Muir: “it’s true to say that many golf clubs have been forced to close or downsize during the downturn with professionals earning capacity severely affected. Events like the Masters give them a chance to win Tartan Tour points and also to win cash prizes.
Other Deer Park Masters Team regulars included Rippin; Woodbridge Timber; PDM and Scotia. A highlight this year was a hole in one at Hole Three for Jamie More of Grangemouth Plumbing firm Carrtech.
